Sunday Poem

Skyward bound, without a guiding light.
Only a nocturnal nemesis,
        hides the truth this quest.
        And spoils my attitude aloft.
When earthlings many seek shelter,
Our wayward thoughts tamed.
        Down to earth finds meaning.
A mind rewind revisits my deeds.

But even in the darkness of night,
And we retreat, our thoughts gain altitude.
Homeward bound, as Heaven's gates await,
our daily sins, the good with the bad.
And by the greeting of a next day,
        With first light gleaming
        With our thirst renewed
A slate clean awaits our trials,
As that is the meaning,

Of in the beginning,
        There was a light.
That which guides our final destiny!
