Alaska's new
government
may be forced to sign
into effect a “Law”
that will disburse the “Budget Reserve
Fund”
of $51-Billion bucks back to
“Last Frontier” Alaskans
that can claim they were a
bonafide resident
back in
1976. Wow, which means some 300000 lucky
“True Alaskans” will
receive a dividend of close to $170-thousand
bucks! The new
government's
transition team insists this
was the original intent of the fund, and by distributing back
this money to
its rightful owners it will end
a long standing legal feud,
to whom this money belonged too in the first place.
The urgency to sign this law and
distribute the money is
based on the fact the “Reserve” has
come under the watchful eye and
interest of the legislature,
as Alaska's
“government funding”
today finds
a deficit, due
decreased oil prices and
continued “frivolous” spending
- like the $millions$ wasted
on appeal of the
“Same-Sex Marriage”
argument and the building of
“Don Young's Bridge to Nowhere”! The
fear today with that
“Reserve” is this. If
the legislature does indeed make a case to raid the “Reserve”, to
fund government during this
deficit emergency, then it
will be a “precedence set” and that “Reserve” will be
whittled away to nothing. As
“Oil Bucks” decrease with deflating
World Oil Prices along with
Alaska's giant “Prudhoe
Bay” field on the decline,
with an increased population it is not allowing the cost of
government to decrease, so there comes a burden on public service and
makes the case
to raid the “Reserve”. But Alaska's population today is double
what it was in 76, so many newcomers have not the idea what it was
way back when and to the old-timers, there should be no longer a
sharing of this “Reserve”. It goes back to the once popular
“Longevity Bonus” that was an added benefit to those sticking it
out during senior years – yes, money for all the efforts over the
long winter years. So the
intent is too give it back to the rightful
owners, those that were bonafide
residents
when the “Bush Rat”
enacted the “Reserve”
into law by securing away
this loot, yes a ways and means to keep it away from the legislature.
Due legal disputes based
on “Residency” back
in the late 70's and early 80's, the distribution of the “Reserve” was
forgotten about and so was invested and today those investments have
allowed the “Reserve” to grow, totaling in the neighborhood of
$51-Billion! So call the new
government
and ask when the checks will be in the mail. But there
may come some objections from
those that moved to Alaska after 1976, including our
newly elected Senator Dan
Sullivan. It
will be interesting to see where Dan finds himself on this issue. But
it will end up in the courts, just like with “Local Hire” issue,
when the Zobel
Law Family decided
to court object Alaska
handing out money based on “Years of Residency”, that
it was against
the law since they were not
allowed any “dividend” back then being newcomers to the state -
since then Alaska has gone
downhill. So to those that were here in 1976, we deserve that
“Reserve” and need to
stick together to champion this
cause. And here is a
warning, please Cheechako,
“Don't Tread
On US” this issue -
we deserve it, you don't!
Wow, $170000 extra bucks!
