I attended the “Lech Walesa Day” celebration on September 29th, Walesa’s
birthday. And in anticipation of the Trump administration engaging in allowing
Poland to enter the United States “visa waiver” program, when this was
announced as part of the day’s events, well Polish citizens celebrated that
news by singing Elton John’s “Madman Across the Water”. In a nutshell
what the rest of the human civilization thinks about our Commander-in-Thief! I
wish we had a “Lech” for American Democracy’s sake. Mitt Romney was right-on, Trump
got the White House and all we got was a lousy hat. Lech Walesa, in comparison
to this Fucking Moron Donald Trump. This Polish elder statesman, pro-democracy
activist and union organizer served as the first democratically elected
President of Poland, from 1990 to 1995. And on the honorable awards ceremony
stage: In 1983, Lech was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and beyond that, he has
received more than 30 state decorations and more than 50 awards from 30
countries, including Order of the Bath (UK), Order of Merit (Germany), Legion
of Honour (France) and European Human Rights Prize. Gdańsk
International Airport is officially renamed Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport and a
college hall at Northeastern Illinois University, six streets and five
schools in Canada, France, Sweden and Poland also were named after Lech Wałęsa.
Named as Man of the Year by Time magazine and 14 other
newspapers and magazines, Lech was awarded with over 45 honorary
doctorates by universities around the world, including Harvard University and Sorbonne - mind you nothing from Trump University! He
was named an honorary karate black belt by International
Traditional Karate Federation. Wałęsa is also an honorary citizen of
more than 30 cities including London, Buffalo and Turin.
In the United States, Wałęsa was the first recipient of the Liberty
Medal, in 1989. That year he also
received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and became the first
non-head-of-state to address a joint meeting of the United States Congress.
Wałęsa symbolically represented Europe by carrying the Olympic flag at the
opening ceremony of the 2002 Winter Olympics, something Trump isn’t even fit
to do unless his fat ass was carried in a golf cart. In 1993, the heraldic authority of the Kingdom of Sweden
assigned Wałęsa a personal coat of arms on the occasion of his admittance
into the Royal Order of the Seraphim.
Lech Walesa in
History
About the honorable awards that Donald Trump has received, Trump meets the Boogeyman from Vince McMahon and the WWE. And forget about naming an airport after this Moron, maybe a crater on the moon and when he decides to attend the dedication, maybe the fuel for the return flight will run short and an emergency landing in Russia will suit US fine!
