Anchorage Bird Count - Update!

S.P. Magee News Bullet: The New Year's Day bird count in and around Anchorage was a total flop, due the birds and other wildlife being scared away from the eve's fireworks, following a lifting of the “works” ban by the Anchorage Assembly, allowing everybody and his brother crazed upon lighting off the noise makers. It has been three days since that Armageddon affair and the fallout is still frightening, no birds have returned to the neighborhood feeders, and some species like the chickadees may have headed to places wherein there may not be enough food to get the differing species through the harsh winter. Also, the air quality reports indicate an increase in “heavy metals” during the blowout. This is an update, more updates to follow.
