“There’s something happening here, what it is ain’t exactly clear, there’s a man with a gun over there, telling me I’ve got to beware”. OK, so the Campbell Creek Bicentennial Park momma bear on the maul is on the lam! Maybe she was smart and got out of Dodge before the going got rough. Just like Bill Allen! Maybe she was tipped off! Allen’s tipping off the FBI at an alarming rate. I wonder if Ted and Ben consider him a “Rat Fink”. And is he still on the invite list for the Corrupt Bastards Club re-union? It is this week at Bill Sheffield’s house. Regardless, the Fish and Feather folks have yet to produce a “dead” bear. I hope the momma bear and cubs headed…which way? See, we wonder why after so many years of inner-city wilderness enjoyment we now find the trail head parking lots vacant. The bears have taken over the trails! Really, when one looks at the migratory bottleneck that has been created by city growth, it is apparent that we have failed at the design criteria based on inclusion and diversity. First and foremost, the Elmore extension is one major blame in the blame game. This black top basically cut off any bear movement south of the Abbott Loop. And Abbott itself is barricaded by testosterone driven teenagers on a mission to re-define road rage. Now Elmore - a.k.a. Abbott Loop - it used to be a quiet street that for the most part meant a wilderness corridor from 64th over to Tudor, the migratory path that bears would use to get to the fishing grounds. But with the ribbon cutting ceremony two years ago, even though road painting continues today with Phase III funding, the noise level from traffic has to summon the bears to be cautious. And the noise from the ball fields sends anything non-human to cover. I can hear both the traffic and the soccer mom’s having organic orgasms from my neighborhood, three streets in from this crap piece of engineering brilliance – the extension that is. With crap comes more crap – the fields of dreams. Did somebody get paid for this design? Oh, it was a lab experiment provided by some highway design students in training – diapers before wheels. Which brings up the second obstacle that the bears now encounter in that pursuit of happiness. It is like a moat being built around the east side. I am talking Hamilton University – a.k.a. University of Alaska Anchorage – which seems to build structures just to build something. “How many bridges could a bridge building build if a bridge builder built nowhere bridges?” This institution has become nothing but a waste of money employer. Really, what is with all the building? Talk about building things to Nowheresville! And is Don Young’s Way still on the drawing board? Anyway, the Elmore “accident waiting to happen” road extension and Hamilton moat are designed without any concern for the wildlife habits, like migration patterns. So now the city has bears mauling runners and bickers. Now we have been always told that bickers have not to worry, as just hold the bike up and look big! I guess that theory was postulated up at the Hamilton University think tank, “We’re high on Pork”, as it doesn’t work. So the Fish and Feather folks have been denied the opportunity to kill Yogi and scare the dickens out of Boo Boo. I honestly believe that Ranger Smith – a.k.a. drive by shootout survivor – is trying to pacify the hunted and the hunters. Good call. As you can’t please all the people all of the time. Talk about noise! When is this city going to apply a noise tax to overhead noise makers, like pilots in small planes? Think about the possibilities, more income to build things of no value. Anyway, with nothing to show off in the murder category and to make it look like something is being done to find the culprit bear out of a wandering possibility numbering 75 or so that frequent the area between the extension and the moat, the solution was to install cameras on Rover’s Reach to monitor the activities. Then what? I think the camera action should be broadcast on U-tube, so some crazies can try to be the hero. For what reason is still in the jury’s hands. Dead or alive? Anyway, I have a better idea. Remember the Million Man March? Well we should all assemble this weekend and march through the woods, along the creeks, to disturb any lingering beasts. Can you imagine what the bears and moose would think if all of a sudden the population of Anchorage and tourists ascended down upon the trails? They no doubt would hightail it away from Anchorage for good ridens. They would find that bridge to Somewhere! I mentioned this idea to a tourist, said he’d be there, as a bear march sounded interesting and he hasn’t done anything exciting since retirement – can’t afford it and the march is free. In fact, maybe we can get Don to get that VECO grill. Then maybe we can get Bill Sheffield to donate republican bull-crap and buns leftover from the re-union – have a grand old time harassing the wildlife. I also informed this tourist that summer is over with here in the crap weather city, as I can hear the cheers from the football season finally, commencing the end of the two-week season. Football, what a joke here in the bowl! Did you realize that it costs $1200-dollars each for football players to get muddy, this extra curricular money courtesy the Pom-Pom girl – a.k.a. Carol Comeau. See, that is why I am all for new sports activities in the “Big Wild”, like marching on the bears’ home. Talk about homes, I came across a homeless shelter the other day. Actually it was close to dark and I noticed some peculiar activity in the woods, as the residents had some sort of light to aid during good night storytelling. So the next day I ventured to investigate. See, during the day the patrons must be out working, most likely at the intersections. Anyway, this camp was more in tune to a Gypsy camp. It looked as though there existed sleeping arrangements for a few dozen homeless. There was a campfire, still smoldering. And a refrigerator! Now my investigative courage continued to interview the camp. Besides the light, power was also supplied to the frig, which contained a case of Bud Lite. Hey everybody likes a cold one after a hard days work. And I noticed that the receptacle that powered the cooler also had what looked like cell phone charges attached? Anyway, I followed the power cable. It went over land and under land, ending at the Anchorage Police Department, hooked into an outside receptacle in the back of the building. At least the homeless are thinking. Brings up a better idea then a Rover’s Ridge march. Why not let the homeless shoot the moose. Then the bears will have no other option but to find a new home. Then maybe the parking lots at the trails heads will once again indicate, “No Vacancy”. Have it your way, as it can’t be both ways. Anchorage expansion has encroached upon everyone and everything. It is preposterous to think otherwise and place the blame on us or them. Now isn’t this interesting. As the trail head parking lots remain empty the parking lots at the dog parks are alive and well. And it was rather interesting watching everybody pick up their own dog’s doo-doo. Now there is an interesting sentence for U.S. Senator Ted “Under Indictment” Stevens - Alaskan Republican - and U.S. Congresswoman Don “Soon To Be Indicted” Young - Alaskan Republican. How about a sentencing wherein they have to go out and around and about to pick up all the crap that their shenanigans has left behind! Just like a failed infrastructure that is now showing its face as game mismanagement, somebody has to take the brunt. So far, it has caused two humans almost their lives, while just out enjoying the outdoors. But when we just build crap to satisfy a failed infrastructure that is bent on nothing promising accept taking the “pork” and wasting time and materials to accomplish this nothingness, no wonder the bears are revolting. We invited them here and now we realize the trap worked. Now what? How about an animal bridge to Somewhere! I am sure Ted and Don can see to that, as it fits nicely into the more nothingness mentality that is making Alaska the laughing stock state of the Union. Even without Sarah’s involvement. Time to march. Hey Bill, keep the buns. In fact, shove one up your nose to stop the bleeding, it’s cheaper!

Tale of the Crooked
No wonder things are out of control in Juneau. Because things are out of control up on the hill. The “K” Street blues upon us all. Our representation has demonstrated that in efforts to pull the wool, just make things as complicated as one could ever imagine then some. This way, true grit working class American heroes have no idea what constitutes protecting this country’s Constitution, or that life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. In actuality, what is going on behind closed doors is in reality un-protecting the great emancipator. Consider this. The average working heroes’ time is consumed by a ratio of 3 to 1. We work, we sleep and the leftover goes towards that pursuit thing. Therefore, we have not the time to police what goes on upon the “Hill”. We pay our representatives a whooping salary, so they will do things honestly wherein we don’t have to worry about who is guarding the hen house. Seems though the lobbyist have had that responsibility outsourced to them, as genuine representation has become a sick joke upon the Union. When there comes a sponsorship from my very own congressman, for an 800-page highway appropriations bill, it makes me wonder. Especially when the table of contents talks about Don Young’s Way! Does that mean he gets “his” way or nothing else? I guess so, as with some free time I thought I would study this 800-page indictment upon America’s intelligence. What ever happened to the government’s mandate on paper reduction? Anyway, here is how it goes. It is the blind leading the blind, except the politicians’ blindfold has seepage holes, so they can see were they want to go. It is by far the road to corruption. In the “Safe, Accountable, Flexible and Efficient Transportation Equity Act”, signed by George Bush in 2005, one finds all kinds of corruption. This is by far the biggest “pork” assisted program since manhood. But that doesn’t surprise me as it was sponsored by the “Pork” King extraordinaire, Don “Billy Goat” Young, of Alaska. Now talk about confusion. Does anybody out there in wa-la land understand what this “public law” is all about? And how much is it going to cost my kids? Anyway, I will stick with the simple issues, which there seems to be only two to fumble with. First, this “public law” allowed limousines to no longer fall under the “gas guzzler” mandate! Really, it is this appropriations bill that sets the weight standards for SUV’s to get away as the most energy inefficient vehicles on record. So monkey-see and monkey-do mentality allowed more pollution and gas guzzling without repercussion. The sad thing, isn’t it the rich that own the limos? And don’t they already get 3-to-1 on tax breaks over the common theft upon my hard working income. Taxation is theft. Not by virtue of supplying money to run government and appropriate for a strong militia, but the fact that we Americans are overtaxed so politicians can act like Mr. And Mrs. Santa Claus all year long, especially during re-election cycles. And through creative manipulations, the tax burden keeps shifting to the hard working class. In fact, in a recent Government Accountability Office report, only one-third of American and foreign corporations paid out any tax, as the laws instigated by lobbyists allow for unprecedented write-offs. I must admit that it has been enjoyable living during the Jesse James political era, wherein the entire cast of misfits are bent on thievery. Anyway, back to the simple issues at hand. So we allow “gas guzzlers” to get away with yet another tax. And doesn’t this “bill” have words to the effect of “Efficient”? Yeh, but we also find the word “Flexible” attached to it. Now that money lost from no longer taxing tank sized monster trucks must find another source. See, all money is earmarked forever. The state of Alaska continues to receive money for crap that died a long time ago. Remember, the hen house… So now we find a “Fishing Pole Tax” in Don Young’s highway appropriations bill, named after his wife! And here is where it gets really interesting. For years, the Alaskan senators supposedly representing their special interests over the interests of the people, they have become spoiled rotten with a special event that is dedicated to their own egomania. It is called the Bob Penney Kenai River Classic. Senators and Congressmen from throughout the land – including power broker celebrities – flock to Alaska every summer to fish, in efforts to stimulate that egomania. It is one of those deals wherein it allows federal funding to be sent to Alaska, for the sport fish restoration programs. So this all out outing at the taxpayers’ expense is justified as it justifies the “pork”. The program also allows preferential treatment for scholarships. Except nobody knows how that part of the program works, unless you are the child of a lobbyists. So how too pay for this extravaganza? Well just place a “Fishing Pole Tax” into the highway appropriations bill, a bill that is so damn complicated that nobody will ever see it! And that is the kind of crap I am talking about. Secret legislation which is nothing short of litigation upon my well-being. On top of that, get a bill signed by the president that doesn’t allow any appeals, for at least 5-long years! This is the kind of stuff that allows us to identify corruption laden windfalls. This is not what we elect idiots for. But like mentioned beforehand, when the hen house security is outsourced to an interest that laughs upon the hard working class and designs a class all to themselves, an elitist class, then who are the weaklings going to turn too? Their own. The weaklings I am talking about are indeed our representatives. They swear an oath to uphold. It is my government. It is supposed to be “for the people and by the people” with no exceptions whatsoever. So, I am sure that there exist a zillion more preposterous inclusions in the zillions of pages of crap legislation that makes its way from the “Hill” then on to “K” Street before it hits the president’s desk. Doesn’t anybody else question this kind of crap? A “Fishing Pole Tax”, so the idiots can come to Alaska to go fishing! The sick thing about all of this? When this classic takes place, the river is closed to the peons. Really, as an Alaskan resident, I can’t go fishing on the two-days that my tax money is being gobbled up by idiots along on a joy ride with idiot friends. And I am sure that the caviar served after a day of fishing is courtesy of that “Pole” tax. What ever happened to righteousness? That’s right, it was the first thing auctioned off when the lobbyist raided the hen house! Where the hell in the Constitution does it summon “lobbyists” to the table? Lobbyist are like a cancer. There is a cure though, it is called being honest. That is a concept that has been lost in government. Lobbyists know damn well that their efforts are successful only if they succeed as turncoats against true America. They are selfish and will do anything to stain this country’s morals. And all the politicians seem to take on an additional oath of responsibility, if you can’t beat them, join them, and the lobbyist will pay the dues! Courtesy some outlandish legislation hidden away from true America and signed, sealed and delivered as “Public Law”. Who asked us?

What's In Your Wallet?
Not much anymore, as just to boil water is costing me an arm and leg. And I am not at all interested in this energy rebate welfare coming our way courtesy of the Corrupt Bastard Club mentality that continues to thrive on in Juneau. I see where another member bites the dust! Palin, if she had balls, would perform a George Bush veto on this preposterous rebate. See, nobody is going to use it for “energy”. In fact this welfare will probably cost more energy, as it wastes energy waiting in traffic to get to the malls! It is just a bandaid upon a wound that doesn’t heal without proper intervention. We need more then a rebate. I am not Bill O’s greatest of fans, but he had it right last summer when he called on a weekend boycott against the refiners. Believe me, if you want to see the price of motor fuel drop, stop buying. It is that simple! First off to get a grip on this out of control problem, we need common sense, which seems to be in short supply these days. And it is not only my tank that is running on empty while oil company profits are soaring, so is my wallet. And I would have a lot more money in my pocket instead of chump change if it weren’t for Ted and Don screwing us here, there and everywhere in between. Sure they bring home the bacon, but that bacon craving is costing me more and more the more they hang around. My natural gas bill from last year is staring at me, “historically” it totals up to 3-times the rebate amount and it was a very mild winter. And I live in a small house! So with this brother not to spare a dime, I decided to utilize the bike for transport. Hey, next time at the pump, get a receipt and mail it to George Bush. Continue this even after he leaves office and settles down in Crawford. Now bike riding is a risky proposition here in Anchorage. Not only do drivers try to scare the hell out of people on bikes, seems the bears have taken a liking to this chasing also. Anyway, I couldn’t afford a new bike, cereal is costing $4.39 a box these days, so I decided to go “cool” and modify. My bike was due for a makeover. Over at the local bike shop hangout, I engaged one of the youngsters in conversation. At first he was aloof, making mention something about my “walker”. See, modifying a multi-speed bike for a “one-speed” bike is something that the “koolies” get away with. Anyway, soon I was being given some helpful advice. My neighbor owns the shop, so that may have helped. First mentioned by the wizard of bikery was the cassette? I thought that was something that played music! I asked the kid if he ever listened to music on an 8-track. He started looking for my “walker”. Then he mentioned something about “freewheeling”. I thought that was a song by Bob Dylan. I asked him if he knew who Dylan was. So for 5-bucks to whack off the sprockets – special tool needed – and $12.50 for spaces along with a new $9.95 chain of fixed length, I was back home in my garage trying to be cheap. My wife likes a good laugh, when I go the cheap route. Now I didn’t have any fancy tool to modify a chain’s length, so I had to find a gear that fit from the old set. The guys at the shop called it the “element”. I thought that was something from chemistry. I wasn’t good with the chemistry stuff in high school, except when the LSD experimenting came about. So it meant the third element as the sprocket that would fit without modifying the chain. It worked and I am back in business. I have no idea what “gear” my one shot is engaged. But what a deal! See, this bike has lasted long enough to run down three sets of brake pads. It is basically an antique. Talk about antiques. When bike riding, and away from the maddening crowd, it gives one the opportunity for clear and concise thoughts. So why would anybody vote to re-elect Senator Ted Stevens or Congressmen Don Young in the upcoming primary? Now anybody who enjoys fishing – sportfishing that is – should consider this before casting off another vote for Ted or Don. Now there exists a bunch of credible things coming forward that indicates Ted and Don are out of fashion. Indictments for one maybe two. Age, that is another disqualifier. It is not discriminating against with the latter. We just need to back off and pass-on the heritage – with some honesty restored back into the equation. But I will present two things herein in which these two scoundrels were instrumental upon, things that cost me “extra” money. First it is the Don Young “Fishing Pole Tax”. Sure enough, in his TEA-Lu transportation bill of 2005, in which he takes credit as the designer and sponsor, you and I pay a 10% tax on all sport-fishing equipment. It is called the “Fishing Pole” tax an enacted as public law under HR 3. Now the bad and sad thing, it is a special interest tax embedded in an appropriations bill and nobody in the DOT can guarantee me how this is accomplished. See, it is a tax placed on the retailer. As you and I are well aware, that is passed on to the consumer. Now why such a tax was hidden away in an 800-page highway appropriations bill, one that goes ahead without appeals until 2010, it is proof that the corrupt will do anything to get more money for more pork even if it is again at the taxpayers’ expense. This tax even affects worm farms! So, this is one reason to give old Don that vote of NO CONFIDENCE! Now with Ted, he stole away the hen house. Really, do you realize that after you pay that 10% for fishing tackle that you are also paying a surcharge to buy that fishing license? Thank Ted for this one. Had not Ted allowed the all-out privatization of the military housing up at Elmendorf Air Force Base, a gift for his buddy, then the power plant that supplied already heated hatchery water for free would still be in operation. Not only did heated water for the fish go away, so did many good jobs. When the already energy efficient power plant was demolished, it meant the state had to purchase boilers to heat the water at the Ship Creek Hatchery. For 30-years it was provided free, as waste heat water. So through panic legislation the legislators enacted a surcharge to cover the costs. And that is why a bunch of kids went depressed here a few years ago, as without the heated water the fishing pool at the annual Sportsmen’s Show had a no show of fish for the youngsters to catch. So we have to pay a “Fishing Pole” tax and at the same time pay a surcharge to catch the fish! See, these guys know Alaskans and tourists love fishing. We may stop driving, but not fishing. So it is a way to bring in extra cash to fund their pork addiction in efforts to make them look good so we vote them in again so they can find even more ways to screw us over. My as well just send them your paycheck. What is leftover can be used to buy cereal. And believe me, there wouldn’t be anything left over and you would most likely get a bill. For services rendered. Anyway, there exist a zillion reasons why not to vote for these two guys who have been instrumental in making Alaska what it is today, the biggest welfare graving state of the Union. But when they do things behind the scenes that target my pleasures, like fishing, that cost to me has cost them my vote. Remember, that surcharge will be like a toll-booth charge and never go away. And the Fishing Pole Tax, the same, as it is so deeply embedded in legislative crap that it will be on the record books until the end of time. And I am willing to bet that if somebody did the homework, that Fishing Pole Tax money is being used by Ted and the other senators during that yearly Kenai River fishathon, courtesy you and I, when the river is off limits to those of us that continues to pay above and beyond - just to fish with our kids! Don’t vote for Ted Stevens or Don Young, unless you enjoy getting screwed over.

Honesty - What a Concept!
Honesty being the best policy has landed an Anchorage jogger - the victim of a nasty bear mauling - at the forefront of “this weeks” true and genuine American heroes. It is an award for “Honesty”, as that quality is sometimes hard to find. She admits her mistake, without prejudice. Goes to show that even when ample signs give warning, some are tempted to take a chance. I was chased and stalked by a brown bear about a year ago, up at the Hillside ski area. Believe me, it is a frightening experience. The victim mentions how beautiful the bear appeared, how time stood still. Finally, a true bear story without the fluff. I held that same sentiment, when so close an encounter became my very own experience. There isn’t much else too do but “enjoy” being so close by such a “Big Wild” animal. But she admits that she was wrong to test the waters, as this particular area has witnessed more then enough problems with bears on the loose. I stay away from these areas, as there exists enough signs out and about that forewarns that the “woods” of Bicentennial Park have been outsourced, back to the rightful owners, the animals! And the bears have taken control. I find many other areas to practice my walking and running. In fact, a jump rope will suffice, right in the comfort of my very own garage. Not that I am afraid, it is their domain - the animals - for the time being. A change in behavior, to what species held ownership occurred about 5-years ago. With the bears, it was not all due to a healthy moose population, but more and more people started utilizing the area. We now come to grips with confrontations. Humans are intelligent, so we heed the warning signs. So the honesty thing speaks for itself. The admittance that she knew better but chanced going it alone, well she no doubt has second thoughts about it now from a hospital bed. And did I, when I went un-prepared for an enjoyable Sunday afternoon walk with my dog, Dixie. Normally, I carried protection. The one time I didn’t, well! And now that we are the trespassers upon another’s domain, so we must respect that. And the mauling victim mentions that a biker had come from the very same direction wherein she was later attacked. Maybe that is what aroused the young bears, to give chase. Again, there are enough signs out and about that indicate caution to the point that the woods should be left alone for the animals. And when one looks at the recent diminished human activity, from vacant parking lots, many people have taken note to just avoid these areas. But her honesty is what struck a note of innocence upon my reactions to her pain and suffering. This honesty will carry her to recovery. Her respect for the bears, especially now, will also help towards a speedy recovery. And the nightmares will also disrupt normal sleeping habits. As far as the bear, it looks as though its time has come, which may mean the same for her cubs. Too bad, so sad. I would be upset over the fact that the animals are now the hunted, but thanks again to the victims honesty, we can look at this situation as a lessons learned. People, read the signs! “There’s bears in them there hills!” Now with respect to honesty being the best policy, what gives? All around town we see dishonesty hard at work. Even the public buses have become victim of this scam, advertising dishonesty for a fee. Maybe it is because of a hard-up budget, with fuel prices out of control. I guess money can buy anything, even if not the truth. Yes, DISHONESTY. I am talking about all these “Ted Stevens 2008” campaign signs showing up on public property. And gag me with a spoon, using red, white and blue as a symbol of what? But I am sure the right-of-way police are afraid to touch anything with the Hulk’s name attached. It must be a bunch of VECO munchkins hard at work when most of us are at home with our families. I honestly thought about taking a clip from Monopoly, the prisoner card, and stapling it to the signs. But why give Ted something to scold about. He just doesn’t understand. I understand there is a new board game out called “K” Street. There are these little figurines used to march around the game board. Tom delay is the headmaster. Ted and Don are included, as pawns for the lobbyists. The more dollars you swindle away accounts for re-election votes. Which reminds me, what the hell is up with Don Young? Are not Ted and Don under indictment? Again, what happened to honesty? Maybe we need a monster to reign down upon these two scoundrels, like a bear attack, wherein Ted and Don will be forced to admit that they knew better but chanced going uncaught. Can you imagine if Ted and Don practiced honesty, honestly! What the hell are they afraid of? Work! Really, they have been stool stuck as crotchety old spunkers for way too long. They have been part of the corruption that has infiltrated the scene, one that started out with a viable system of checks and balances. Ted and Don and not to forget Frank, because of their time in office, have been instrumental in allowing the Congress to become the House of Ruins. The checks that once threatened any imbalances have been substituted by real checks, for padding the “war chest”. Don is great at stretching the truth. I once heard him call Linda Pelossi a “Rabid Skunk”, then denied it. Ted still thinks he did nothing wrong with his ties to Bill Allen and VECO. Just bring honesty to the bargaining table guys, as that is what we expect from individuals considered “statesmen”. Dishonesty will erase many years of goodwill to the point that the “statesmen” label is now replaced with the “henchmen’s” label. That is what your positions have become, by the representatives for the lobbyists, so it is very difficult to find your replacements, as most of us like to practice “honesty” honestly. It is “filth” money the embraces your success. We are sick and tired of the sacrileges that your have committed against the Constitution. Remember, somewhere it reads, “We the People”. I would bet that if both of you came forward with the truth, then we would all accept that, based on the fact that you both accepted the responsibility to be honest, even if after all these years honesty was just a suggestion - just like an Anchorage traffic light. Nobody’s looking! It is against the law of the people, regardless. You both went caught. So if you could find the decency to come forward with an “honesty is the best policy” statement, then we would forgive your past, that you knew better. And isn’t it great to have a song in your honor? “Somewhere a senator, sits in a big leather chair, behind a big wooden desk. The caribou he killed, mean nothing to him. He took the money, just like all the rest. Tick Tock.” Yes indeed, Neil put it so well, just like all the rest! With the time you two have been away from Alaska - thank God - you could have made a difference. And it was during the time that you befriended the VECO boys, Ted, you were positioned to be in charge of this country, as President Pro “Mad” Temper, if something should go wrong up on the hill. So, maybe, just maybe you can find a little glimpse of hope, that honesty is still the best policy and it is never too late to be truthful and honest. Your campaign signs are publication that corruption breeds more corruption. We don’t deserve that. America doesn’t deserve it and surely it sends the wrong message to our children. And if the cobwebs of age have taken the toll, remember as an American politician you both swore on the bible with your hand held high that you would be honest. But then again, if you continue down the same path of dishonesty, and in concert with the slobber of lobbying and tell the people what they want to hear, then you will probably fool the silent majority once again. Hey Don, just what the hell was your “fishing pole” tax all about? And why is Don’s Way part of a “Public Law”? I guess anything for publicity, honest or dishonest - it is all of the same crap design. And instead of the eagle soaring above as a symbol of strength, we are rained down upon by “crap”, from dishonest politicians alive and well. What do we tell our children? As this fallout upon my country t’s of Thee is another EXXON Valdez wreck in the making, with punitive damages not an option for punishment. In fact, rewards for being dishonest are easier to come by, like re-election time after time after time.

MINE Your Own Business
I had not been interested at all in the Alaska Clean Waters Initiative that goes before the voting public in August, under “Ballot Measure 4”. But then something called upon my interest to at least get up to speed on this impotent issue, plus some kids at a local Internet coffee house were laughing at a “tampon” joke, somehow affiliated with the “in-ish”. Really, the web site for the Renewable Resource Coalition has a backdrop mountain scene that looks like a gigantic “Green” tampon. No wonder the kids were laughing. Even the kids’ mom laughed when she found out what was so funny. Kids and summertime fun! I have a great idea to save energy, an initiative to allow school on the even years only! And what is with this Renewable Resource Coalition crap anyway? It has nothing to do with renewable energy, just a front for a segregated community bent on keeping a piece of Alaska protected away, especially from development. And didn’t the Iraq war teach us to beware of “coalition” crap? But what bothers me about the “Green Tampon” initiative is this. It targets only the metals mining industry and leaves alone the oil industry which is time wise renewable, leaves alone the timber industry which is also time wise renewable or leaves alone any other heavy duty industry that needs policing along the way to prosperity. Deep throating for coal, what’s that? So had the initiative not discriminated – by targeting only one industry – then maybe I would have been prone to vote against anything and anyone that could pollute another’s drinking water or affect the health of the salmon spawning waters. So how and why did this initiative get so far along the way but missed out inclusion of the oil industry? And it should have included timber “mining” and coal “mining”. Damn, we are still feeling the effects of the EXXON wreck upon Bligh Reef, and we all know what happened to any punitive punishment! I think it was killed away by an initiative by a coalition of Supreme Court in-Justices. So this target on a lonely industry is bothersome. It is bar none far unfair in my book. See, we could vote on this initiative and not one ounce of gold would ever be mined away from the Bristol Bay area. But what if oil were discovered tomorrow in that same area? And with emphasis on off shore drilling for oil soon to be a reality in everybody’s backyard, including pools and cesspools, would the oil industry be confronted with the same disgruntlement? No way. So after reading the 2-page initiative and getting a headache every time the initiative insisted that it was only an attempt to not allow “metals” mining, I cannot and will not vote for passage. The initiative is a waste of time. If we were serious about pollution and our future, it would not be presented now before the ballot court – we the people – with such a whittled down agenda. In the long list of “toxic pollutant” nasty crap found in the appendix of the initiative - fallout from the mining process - I did see listed industry spill-over hazards like BETX. That is benzene, ethylene, toluene and xylene - components found in crude oil extraction. It is especially abundant in North Slope crude oil. This stuff makes its way to Valdez then it is allowed to evaporate into the atmosphere. It occurs in metals mining as it also occurs in oil extraction. So this initiative should also target the oil industry, as the list of “toxic pollutants” as defined by the experts does not discriminate. But it seems as though through creative editing, this Alaska Clean Water Initiative - which could become law by majority joy - it was specifically designed to leave the oil industry alone. Bothersome it is! See, there is renewed interest in allowing tankers to carry crude oil or liquefied natural gas down through the Bearing Strait, right smack across the waters of Bristol Bay. When an environmental initiative gets this far along, it should be an all inclusive attempt to coral concerns, as to not include it all allows for creative side bar arguments in the courts of law when somebody along the way decides to target another industry - the sentiment that “they” are picking on us goes a long way. So to the home office of the “Green Tampon” boys - the board of directors of the Renewable Resource Coalition - go back and do your homework. Come back with an all-inclusive plan that goes to show that there isn’t a hidden agenda behind this initiative, a manipulative ways and means to disallow metals mining but at the same time gives the oil industry carte blanc “go ahead” do as you please. And you get to keep your private fishing estates. In closing, it is my belief that the initiative is a selfish measure that protects the interest of a minority. Sure it is a world-class fisheries resource, especially for sport fishing. But my take on the initiative’s agenda is that it follows that age-old sentiment, “not in my backyard”! So this initiative needs work. It needs inclusion wherein all of industry is treated equally with respect to “adversary”. Back to the drawing board “Green Tampon” boys! Hey, at least they are on the right track with the “Green”! As far as the “tampon”, well maybe their web site needs a makeover also. So I give Ballot Measures 4 a NO vote of confidence and continue to believe that legalized gambling through casinos just sucks the life out of the elderly and aerial wolf hunting is for punks afraid to get their feet wet. And the reality of the taxpayers footing the bill for a member of the Corrupt Bastard’s Club to campaign? No, No, No. Hey, it is another “Big Wild NO” for Ted, a “Big Wild NO” for Don and please Thy coalition, NO more Murkowski(s)! One more thing about initiatives. Cab fares in Anchorage are up, as the people refused to deregulate when we had the chance!

More Welfare
Alaska, what has happened to the “Bush Rat” mentality? I am talking about going it alone, Jay Hammond style. I bet if you ran a poll and asked about the “Bush Rat” label, it would mean a failed grade, as Alaska has changed. This state should inaugurate at least one day in honor of Jay. He was the last decent Alaskan politician. But center stage news continues to promote the fact that our political system here in Alaska survives because the gears of corruption continue to corrupt. Ted Stevens claims he is innocent. Sorry, some of us are not stupid. Don Young has spent over a million dollars to defend his innocence. Again, why do the Murkowski’s think we are all stupid? This state has become the asylum for people stuck on welfare and youngsters growing up thinking that it is OK to be politically corrupt. Ted has taken it upon himself to use Alaskan kids in his campaigning, while under a Federal indictment. “But daddy, he’s a felon”! I wouldn’t let my kids anywhere near Ted, or Don or MoanaLisa. Anyway, the PFD is a crying shame waste of money. It should have been dismembered a long time ago. It has now become a perpetual political junket tool used by the Corrupt Bastards Club. Can you imagine campaigning for office with an agenda to take away the welfare? It would be political suicide. And now we are trusted with an energy rebate, to spend on everything but energy. There is already a line at Best Buy. And the automobile dealers are getting into the foray, with double your rebate for energy efficient SUV’s! There is no such thing as an energy efficient SUV. And my energy bill for natural gas has increased 100-percent the past 4-years in a row, ever since Ben Stevens was appointed to the Board of Directors for SEMCO Energy, the Michigan based company that owns Enstar. So why all of a sudden this wizard notion that the people need help? Hey, has anybody seen Ben? Yes indeed, the people that live in the villages have been paying outrageously for heating fuel, but that high price has been compounded through transportation costs. And there is a reason that the bastards down in Juneau that control the oil loot have taken it upon themselves to give a helping hand – through this so-called energy rebate. See, the last two years has broken the record historically with high oil prices, thereby increasing the cost of refined fuels. And Caesar Chavez has demonstrated that it is a good idea to help out others, through his Joe Kennedy “Citizens for Oil” program. See, Chavez is not that popular, just like most of our representatives down in Juneau. But by using the welfare card, it goes to show that the people take favor. So by giving out a pittance, it means silence upon the lambs. Think about it this way. If there existed no PFD, maybe people would start to understand the oil business here in Alaska, how it is a big rip off for the resource owners - that is you and I! This state has the largest of oil fields, been that way for the past 30-years. Billions of dollars has been reaped away with tankers full of crude oil heading south. The state gets no where near its fair share from the exploration and exploitation efforts. Many will argue that isn’t so, but they have a secret agenda. Either stupidity or siding with Bill Allen. Now for years the cost of natural gas was rather cheap. If it remained cheap as it was supposed too, maybe more help could be extended where needed, in the “Bush”. But without representation for the people, the oil companies find ways to take advantage of the situation to make more money. Case in point. For years the natural gas from the Cook Inlet was subsidized, that is the reason it had remained so cheap for so many years. It was a grandfathered subsidy promoted back in the 60’s in efforts to bring affordable natural gas to Anchorage, Kenai and the Mat-valley homeowners. It worked rather well, until! See, natural gas was a commodity all by itself for a long time. But oil company greed insisted that natural gas get tied to crude oil. They were successful, as nobody in D.C. gave a “Bush Rat’s” ass about the hard working American consumers. And Ted was busy raising his house as was Don busy picking coconuts down in Florida. Oh, and MoanaLisa was busy land swindling. So natural gas started skyrocketing along with out of control crude oil costs. But when a commodity is grandfathered in and stealing away the bottom-line, what to do? In Cook Inlet, it meant a few years of pinching back the wing nut and strangling the system. In fact, Anchorage came very close to running on empty during several cold spells in the bowl. Not that there wasn’t enough natural gas, but the oil companies in control made it so – called artificial manipulation. Why? So they could drill new wells into the same formation that was subsidized but make available un-subsidized natural gas. It meant brand new spanking wells tied to the crude oil index. So good producing wells that were grandfatherd in are now shut-in for the more lucrative valued wells. It is the same gas, just coming out of a different hole in the ground. See, if people were not given welfare, then maybe they would get concerned and find out what happens down in Juneau. This is all well known, this manipulation. So what does the “Corrupt Bastard” mentality do during the legislative cession? They for sure don’t fix the real problems. They just hand out a piece of candy and hope we all go away smiling like a bunch of little kids summoned to the stage of a Ted Stevens’ re-election rally. The best thing to do in efforts to get weaned away from the sick mentality is to obligate students an understanding of the Alaska political infrastructure. “Alaska Corrupt Bastards 101” should be a prerequisite to making the grade and should be a requirement for transplants, like getting a new driver’s license when one decides to become an Alaskan citizen. It is the blind leading the blind here in Alaska. Big oil has such a stranglehold on our representation that even with a bunch of elected politicians landing themselves in jail, nothing has changed. The entity in control was not Bill Allen, as he was just a pawn for the manipulators. One can’t blame “Big Oil”, as they are just doing what they are good at, raping the consumers. So the finger pointing points to Juneau, with our representation. But a lessons learned herein. We the people have control of our own destiny. If we let the hen house get ransacked by the FOX, then we are to blame. Same thing here, as we placed trust in our elected officials and they went blinded by the might. It is never to late to take control back, but first one must have an understanding. The Alaskan oil scene has become so complicated that it would probably take 30-years of study just to make heads or tails over what goes on behind the scenes. In the meantime, we continue to find “bandaids” provided to control the hemorrhaging. Instead of those kids being herded up on stage to support a felon, they should be learning about Alaska. Not about the spectacular scenery and wildlife, but about the ravaged political scene that was infiltrated by corruption and ask themselves why? Then maybe one day we will see another “Bush Rat” at the stick, and instead of an out of control nose dive, a representative body that takes us above and beyond - with the people for reasons by the people and for the people no other way. Thank you Jay! Wouldn’t it be great if instead of a “Corrupt Bastards Club” this state were known for its “Bush Rat Club”. I need a new hat and my membership check is already signed!

Babe Patrol
Enough is enough! I just watched a CNN waste time talk show and a person of interest came up for discussion, again. Sarah Palin? CNN is good for a good laugh. FOX, an evil laugh. Sarah Palin is becoming pretty famous out and about. What for I am still searching an answer. OK, I give her credit for her ferocity in trying to get an ex-brother-in-law whacked off the payroll and at the same time her generosity at giving a “fund raising” surveyor friend a promotion, but vice presidential material for the old gray haired bastard? What is with Cinderella McCain? Talk about stool stuck. She needs something, young. Sorry, the thought of Sarah in competition with McCain’s wife nauseates me. And what is with all this hoopla about Sarah being a babe? Yes indeed, that came from the ED - Explosive Diarrhea - orifice of Pat Buchanan, once himself a presidential wannabe. Boy, were we lucky that never happened. I beg to differ with all of Sarah’s fans that think she is a babe. You don’t see Hugh walking around the mansion with the likes of a Sarah do you? I think Sarah is grease stuck back in Travolta High School days. What is living in that hairdo? I heard some youngsters talk about a secret radar. Maybe it is a silo for a star wars missile, an extension of the Kodiak Launch Facility. That is where all the rockets to be launched are hiding, in Sarah’s “Big Wild” hairdo! In fact, did that photo-op in Vogue ever hit the stands? Oh, it was a different magazine called Mrs. Vogue Mature. Sorry! Anyway, if you want to see some good looking women, go over to PJ’s. The same girls that danced during pipeline construction days are still performing today. Anyway, in Alaska we are blessed with a world of natural beauty. I have witnessed the North Slope migration on several different occasions over the years, and it is so satisfying. It is all so different each and every time. In Anchorage, we have a healthy brown bear population. There is also a healthy moose population. Cook Inlet shorebirds display a magnificence aloft. Now take what we see around town and multiply that by a thousand-fold, as a barometer to what one would see if given the opportunity to be up north in the Arctic when the lakes show open water. And if fortunate enough to witness the caribou migration, when the calving takes place, it is a miracle before your very eyes. But this year I witnessed another facet of nature, right here in Anchorage. See, I forgot to turn off my porch light. I have a house with metal siding, so the heat reflected and captured off of the 60-watter, it invited guests - moths! When you see these little miracles of the Creator in flight, it is no doubt the flight of an angel. But when the winged take to the siding to suck up the heat, that is when the true beauty unfolds before your very eyes. This year, it seems there came a certain type that frequented the scene, an Irish green color with these streaks of white - most likely imbedded as a means to camouflage against intruders. According to Mr. Phineas J. Whoopee, “Nemoria Mimosaria”, or for guys like myself into real babes, I mean moths - the White Fringed Emerald. So over the past week, with my morning French press coffee, I have taken to observe and enjoy the different species that have congregated here. It is truly amazing. Some are so beautiful. Others look mean and have this disposition like Java the Hut! As the morning dew disappears, so do the moths taking to flight. It is interesting, to wonder what is the moths’ calling upon this earth? Is it any different then our own mission? There has to be a reason for their appearance. And where do they hibernate? Or is there life span like a leave, only once! So as we complain about this and that, the cycle of nature continues on unadulterated. So when I see a moth enjoying freedom once, I cringe over the fact that man’s creed of greed is destined to make Atlantis the “Lost Continent” a reality. We think that North Korea is an enemy. I think today that South Korea is just as evil. There is an outfit in that country that is cloning dogs! Yes indeed, some wannabe American with too much cash at hand decided that she wanted a clone of her pet, a pit bull. Now pit bulls are not pets but wild animals with a mentality of an Alaskan politician. Pit bulls should be banned from existence, as they are ugly and serve no useful purpose except alter ones ego above and beyond reality. I almost had to kill a pit bull that attacked my dog. Lucky for me was the fact that the bull was a young “punk” dog that didn’t know what it was getting into. And this happened in broad daylight on a public hiking trail right here in Anchorage! My dog, my mountain dog, was about to make minced meat out of the youngster. The young “punk” that owned the dog thought he was cool, was about to pull the pit bull crap on me, until he saw my 44. Anyway, cloning a dog is a sin. When our representatives allow something like this to be imported, we are just asking for a disaster to happen. It serves no useful purpose, except to show the world that wealth brings with it a brain cancer that infiltrates reasonableness. Really, the lady that had the excess disposable income to break the Ten Commandments raved on that “it was a miracle”. Only the Creator performs miracles! She honestly thought that the cloning also cloned the same brain so the dog was exactly the same “dog”. “You know me and I know you” she was quoted while talking to the living crap with legs. It cost her $50,000-dollars for five puppies! Supposedly, this was accomplished by an individual who once upon a time worked for the “disgraced” scientist Hwang Woo-suk. Well Mr. South Korea, this is a worst disgrace. According to the U.S. Constitution, this qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment, against all mankind. Anyway, with what I know about cloning is this one fact. It is designed as a toy of the rich and crazy. Should we trust that? And the scary part, can you imagine another Cinderella McCain? She has the money, so beware. In the mean time, why not clone these Emerald moths, as they are harmless little creatures that fly around showing us what the Creator is all about. But cloning dogs, because we are stuck on not believing in the future, it is a sad state of affairs. And when we have an inept and dysfunctional government that allows it to influence what happens here from over there, it points to an out of control state of affairs. See, if cloning is successful with dogs, then what will be next? What if something goes wrong, will it mean more homeless people, as we seem not to claim ownership of rejects now, so a human reject from the Lee Byeong-chun factory in South Korea would be somebody’s experiment gone wild - wherein we all pay. We have more pressing issues at hand, like starvation to deal with then pet crap. And want to do something worthwhile for society, adopt a pet, as thousands upon thousands of pet dogs and cats go homeless each and everyday, right here in America. Hey, why not clone cereal? It all boils down to greed and that is why Atlantis is coming to a theater near you, soon! For now, we should all boycott anything and everything that comes from South Korea, until this cloning business is shutdown. Write your congressman. But that won’t work as most congressmen have already been cloned, to do as the lobbyist say. By the people and for the people? What a dream!

FBI - Most Wanted
Enough is enough! Ted Stevens, please go away. If you would just resign your senate seat, I would be prone to vote away your felonies. I would agree on a “speedy” pardon. Just to get rid of you. But you are now attempting to trash the justice system. The fact that you insist your innocence and that the trial will hurt your “campaign time”, well wait just a minute. What gives you the right to have freedom when under indictment? In fact all able minded Americans should go out and commit a felony, to see how much freedom a peon would get. There are humans stuck in the American justice system who have not or will not ever get a speedy trial. And they have not freedom either, but years of false incarceration. While incarcerated for no reason accept for being “poor”, they get caught in a system unjust and in efforts to defend their remaining freedoms, it usually comes to criminal activity which amounts to self-sustaining jail time. Help? What is that! And this is why we despise lawyers appointed by politicians in trouble. When somebody has enough disposable income to hire lawyers of the rich and famous, there is something wrong with equality. “All men are created equal” quotes my Independence. In fact, as a test, why not just use a court appointed public defender? “How does it feel to be on your own”, Mr. Stevens? Just take your cake and eat it too! Look, Bill Allen was a crock since day one, by trying to provide the oil industry low paid workers. The wages were so low that many workers that wanted to be part of the Alaskan oil scene had too live outside Alaska, so it may have helped the bottom line with kickbacks that lined your gift receiving program, but it didn’t really help Alaska. You committed a crime, it is evident without the jury and evidence. You can no longer represent this state or this country. Consider seeking political asylum in England. I am sure the Queen would accommodate that wish, as you have been very generous to British Petroleum here in Alaska. And no I am not in favor of taking your name away from the airport as it will continue to remind us of your true worth, while behind bars. And please, stop trashing the U.S. justice system, it is all us peons have! During a campaign shindig, it was clear and convincing that the Corrupt Bastards Club is still alive and well here in Alaska. Let us see who was in attendance at the secret gathering at an unspecified location. Bob Penney, hey didn’t he almost get MoanaLisa in trouble over a land deal too good to be true. That was a gift in disguise! Murkowski went caught. And Bill Sheffield, the turncoat and nosebleed king who squandered away a healthy retirement from the state run railroad, from FEMA medication, another jokester he is. Carl Mars? What a surrounding of no-goods! And where was son Ben? Ted, you have served but now you must serve, as in the end your true friends took advantage of your power. You let done your guard to guard this country’s righteousness. Now is not the time to test the justice system, by asking for “free time” when you are on the borderline of becoming a bonafide criminal. How will it feel if you can never vote again? Like some “poor” people right here in America! And why you had a bunch of kids stand up with you at the podium during the campaign rally, it is child abuse in my book. They can read. They know you are in trouble with the law – with the FBI and IRS. By using a kid forum, it is slippery sleazy politics at its worst. And those wannabe bikers that escorted your arrival, are you trying to instill the fear factor upon us? Sorry, it didn’t work. So do us all a favor. Do Alaska a favor, just take your penance cake and go away. After about a year from now and away from power, see what friends are left, it may be frightening! But justice will be served, here or there, as there exists many Americans who believe in the justice system, in its merits to not engage in frivolous lawsuits, especially against elected officials. You got caught! So far your shenanigans has cost the taxpayers millions of dollars in investigative time. Just admit to it, get the pardon and find a new hobby. It is ironic that you were instrumental in getting federal funding to build a brand spanking new FBI crime lab in Anchorage. I guess we are getting our monies worth, as you are their most wanted man. How does it feel? Maybe we have found the true meaning of kickback payback!

Begich - Red, Yellow and I'm Blue
It looked like a giant garage sale from the crowd out of control. So I stopped into a place called Best Buy to see what had blessed this day of peace and rest with rage and rant upon a supposedly civilized society. It was a Sunday and the place was packed. Crap was my sentiment, as there wasn’t anything free for the taking. From the looks of things and the long line at the cashola registers, wherein cashiers were taking in debit cards like senators taking in lobbyists’ bribes, no damn economic downturn in the hi-tech sector. So I felt compelled to buy something, to help the economy limp along. With guilt on mind to leave empty handed, I was convinced by a young Geek that I needed a portable hard drive. So it was, what for I do not know. Anyway, I am now on my way to the emergency room. See, that packaging for the thing I didn’t need is by far more secure then Dick Cheney’s Hailburton stock. While trying to tear apart the plastic “I can see what I bought but can’t get my hands on what I bought” an irate piece of the Fort Knox package went berserk like shrapnel and struck my eye. I had used everything in my possession in efforts to open the container containing my drive, even to the point of painting a target bulls-eye - to blast it apart with a shotgun slug. Anyway, don’t you just love the hi-tech world of Geeks? There is so much out there that it is beyond belief. Hey, other countries don’t want to be like us, just too much confusion! And cameras are found just about everywhere. Go to the doctor for intestinal or colon surgery, well for an extra 500-bucks you can get your very own video of the procedure. And when the cesspool overflows, you can even get the “crap” guy to send a camera down-hole, to check out the crap. It is just the same as clogged intestines or arteries! And you can even buy a video of that cesspool makeover procedure, for future viewing, like at Thanksgiving time! I am waiting for the day when hi-tech gets to the point wherein I can just ring the cesspool man for a cholesterol cleaning. That hard drive I purchased during the Best Buy not a Sunday garage sale, it doesn’t work - as my computer is a little old. What the hell is with this “sub” connector anyway? Is Mark Begich really running for something other then rat fink? I saw a commercial broadcast that indicated he was trying to get that soon to be vacated U.S. Senate seat. Ted’s done for good. Another senator turned felon bites the dust. But some fans continue to waste their time as Ted’s campaign signs are showing up here, there and everywhere. In fact I saw one atop the VECO building! His headquarters and staff must be working around the clock to get the word out that Ted is not a crook. He is a crock of crap in my book. But Begich as a possibility? So I have performed my own “poll” on the merits of his attempt to jump from mayor of Anchorage – rape capital of the world – to a more serious endeavor, filling in where Ted left off. Here comes the results. As proof of a Begich incompetence trait, just look around Anchorage, especially downtown. This guy has gone crazy with red and yellow paint. There exists hardly anymore curb side parking spaces. What is with all the curbs painted red or yellow? We can’t keep the road lane paint fresh, but we can sure waste money painting curbs! And the roads are so damn bad, that it looks as though some terrorists are using the roads around town to test IED. Potholes, weathered lane paint and no parking places are three of the things that should be considered when it comes to that vote of confidence or not. It is that simpleton “three strikes you’re out” rule. Potholes suck the life out of my tires and shocks. Weathered lane paint invites road rage, as out of control teenagers have no clue about road etiquette. Lets face another fact of the matter at hand, without municipality sponsored low fee curbside parking spaces, we have to dole out wads of cash to private entities, just to take in the downtown festivities. Hey, “pave paradise put up a parking lot” seems to be the goal here in Anchorage. So Begich has not lived up too his ideals. And during his televised campaign trick shot, he mentioned that if elected for the rejected there would be no pay raise in Congress until there is a raise in minimum wage! Crap again. See, if I were going to a job with benefits for life that paid $175,000-dollars a year for about 200-days of work – which amounts to about $80.00 an hour – I would not have to worry about going broke, so a pay raise would be not necessary. From Anchorage mayor to U.S. Senator, that is about a 100 percent increase in pay and yes, benefits for life. So a Senator, in pursuit of life and liberty believes it takes $80-dollars an hour for happiness, wherein the minimum wage earner has to survive on about $7-dollars an hour. So what is Begich trying to prove? A class system exists and he is already part of that system of the rich and the rest of us. Lesser of the evils, the verdict is still out. Washington needs a lobotomy and an enema not more Viagra! Now talk about wasting money. The Elmore extension – voted the worst roadway extension ever since statehood – is in the third season of construction. This entire summer so far, it has been no construction but just a painting frenzy. I think Picasso painted the MoanaLisa in less time! What a waste of money. And that grass that was planted along the way, it harbors these swarms of flying leeches, wherein bike riders are choked to death. It had to be planned that way. Why not just let the wild stuff grow where it belongs? Anyway, it continues to be a sad state of affairs when we continue to vote in incompetence. We need fresh blood to reign in and take back what has been lost. More of the same is getting old. Begich is just that, more of the same. Why is it that this country is so down and lame, so afraid, at voting in a no-name? Look at what happened in Poland back during the 70’s, when a no-name “simple electrician” working class hero named Lech Walesa rallied the cause for “change” and eventually ran for office and won. Why? He had the vote of the hard working people who were really bent on change. That is what we need here in Alaska as well as all across the nation. CHANGE. New blood with a new course to travel. So Begich should just stay as mayor and continue painting the town, red, yellow and keeping us all blue. Hey, he is only one color off, but so has the flag reflected a different color over the years, when the crooks infiltrated the Halls of Congress. Like a Jesse James photo-shoot, that is what I think about when I see a framed picture of Ted together with Don and the Murkowski clan. Crooks and crocks, just more of the same for way too long. And I watched the televised debates with the Republican Congressional wannabes, including incumbent Don Young, also under investigation by the U.S. Justice Department. It is sad, so sad, that we have allowed crooks to infiltrate what was once a proud America. Maybe we should all step back, back to the curb, and see how and why it went so out of control. Maybe we need a moratorium on legislation and policies until policed and ethics once again enters the arena. It is our arena, not theirs. It is a place wherein egos should be left at the curb and where once corruptness was illegally parked, the time is up, no parking anymore.

Brown Boy!
I finally made it back to Anchorage. Now before my return home, I had heard all kinds of complaints about the bad weather scene in the “Big Wild”, especially over the past few weeks. In fact the entire summer season so far seems to be pretty normal in the complaint category, overcast! My wife decided it was time to leave for better weather several years ago, she is still hanging on for that change. But when the cat complains, it is serious business. Hey in Alaska, rotten weather and rotten politics goes hand-n-hand. Maybe when one turns the other direction, towards the good, so will the other. Too bad, as my whereabouts the past few weeks included some pretty decent weather. It meant sunshine, 24-hours a day. A beautiful scenery with ocean waves licking the undisturbed shoreline of seclusion, allowing me to sleep like a baby. In the early morning as the fog moved out, one was greeted with a spectacular display of migratory waterfowl. I often thought that maybe this was where civilization began, as it was nothing short of a gigantic nest and so far removed from civilization that something started off here. And no I wasn’t on vacation, but working way up North for an independent oil company that is trying to make in-roads into the lucrative oil business that has been controlled by the “Big Boys” for some 30-years by now. Anyway, it was rather nice to make it back into a different civilization wherein the talk is something different and not all about oil. No more “downhole” lingo today. Where a “spud” is a potato and not some tool of the trade. So with spare time on my side and enough spare change leftover after paying my outrageous utility bills, there was not much to worry about accept enjoying life and liberty, so a pursuit of happiness meant a walk down to Westchester Lagoon with a good cup of coffee. And finally, it was a beautiful day in Anchorage. Nice warm temperatures with just enough of a mild breeze to keep the mosquitoes at bay. It also meant tourists out and about enjoying what we take for granted, that surrounding natural beauty. I could let you in on a little secret of the beauty found in the Arctic, but that is for a later correspondence. Anyway. I was sitting at the “Dumb Iron Worker” garden down at the lagoon when approached by a gentleman, accompanied by a younger lady. From the somewhat dark complexions - rarely seen around Anchorage - most likely of middle-eastern decent. I could tell by the smiles and frowns of confusion that they were definitely tourists. The man introduced himself and then started asking for directions. I like to see visitors out and about the trail system, so have no problem offering assistance. Hey, I would rather see tourists enjoying the free attractions then wasting their precious time down on 4th Avenue buying Alaska crap made in China! I went into some detail about what could be seen going east towards the mountains or west towards Earthquake Park. The earthquake thing seemed to gain their interest. From the conversation that was promoted by my willingness to assist, I could tell that this gentleman was probably very well educated. Now during the conversation, I noticed another older man take up residence at the vacant park bench in close proximity to my hangout – where the “Love” poem greets life. After the conversation with the middle-eastern tourists ended with some gracious thanks of appreciation and not more then a few steps away on their way I heard a voice ask, “Where do you think they’re from”? It came from the other man who had infiltrated my domain and who had taken it upon himself to strike up a conversation. Again, it was one of those days to converse. See, it seems that rotten weather has a tendency to “stool stuck” opinions, so when the weather finally comes around, so does it promote people to get involved. Weather on the good side makes people friendly! Now Alaska is known for its “Chinooks” and also hot-air blows from political corruption. Wow, I thought, upon this question from a stranger. And before I could answer, the same individual made the point that those folk, middle-eastern, are the kind we have to place suspicion upon - as they are trying to take over, or words to that effect. Wow again I thought, this was going to be an interesting conversation. And the individual was almost a double take for Rush Minnow, or whatever the name. So with nothing else to do, I decided to invite a continued dialect. My comeback to his question, “I think maybe Pakistan or India”. He replied, “Yup, from over there”. Thinking right off that this was Mr. Alaska Conservative, I asked him what he thought about Ted Stevens’ most recent indictment. Let’s face it, this is an exercise upon the 1st Amendment. “Hang the bastard” was his answer! Mr. “Maybe” Conservative went on to say, “and that Cheney and cowboy from Texas, hang them at the same time”. Now this guy goes on a rant, about how bad the economy has become from the likes of Ted, George and Dick, especially with the protracted war upon us. I was a little miffed, as I could not figure out this individual’s political calling. Then he introduced himself and asked me how I was going to vote on the upcoming “Alaska Clean Water” stuff, Proposition 4. See, he was a fisherman from Bristol Bay. Has been an Alaska resident for 51-years. He went into great detail about the effects of the proposed “Pebble Mine” and how it would ruin the world-class fisheries in that area. He also went into detail about the Red Dog Mine, and the environmental consequences of allowing zinc dust to infiltrate the local streams. So I knew this guy was up on political stuff that affects Alaska. It was hard to get a word in and I was content on just listening. Like already acknowledged, it was difficult to figure this individual out. Then he went on about the Murkowski family. Egad, this guy was pissed. Good thing Frank is in hiding. And we were pretty much on even footing about MoanaLisa, especially in her most recent photo-shoot opportunity wherein she went overboard proclaiming to the world that Ted Stevens’ deserves a speedy trial. You know what MoanaLisa, there are black folks in prison down in Texas that have been waiting for their date in court for a lifetime. Many are innocent. Why don’t you advocate for their justice and a speedy trial? It goes to show that MoanaLisa was brought up on a class system mentality of the have and have-nots. How she ever made it to the U.S. Senate is a jokerman’s special. “You were born with a snake in both of your fists while a hurricane was blowing.” Of course, we can all thank Ted for that with his filthy “PAC” money, the same money that his so-called friends are returning faster then tainted tomatoes. So there existed some commonality with this guy’s beliefs and my very own. I could tell that he was a little frustrated with the political scene here in Alaska and from his comments about the “cowboy”, down on the national political scene. Anyway, the conversation ended with he informing me this. “I guess we will have to place our faith in the Brown Boy”. The times, they are a changing!

Kingpin's Family & Friends
Seems everybody has an opinion, with respect to Ted Stevens’ indictment innocence, at least until proven guilty. Why he stood in front of a Federal judge and pleaded not guilty, it is absurd. What happened to honesty being the best policy? Of course he had Brendan Sullivan as his right hand man. Sullivan was the right hand man for Oliver North, when North was being tried for lying before Congress. So I guess Sullivan’s expertise is untying the lying! Sullivan is also an expert in presidential pardoning efforts. Pardons have to be applied for through a rigorous application process. It isn’t something that is just a phone call away nowadays. My guess is that Ted will no doubt be pardoned before the upcoming election. He deserves nothing less with the stipulation that he immediately retires his Senate seat and enjoys the rest of his life “powerless”. If he gets board, maybe he can turn his double-decker house back to a ranch style. Anyway, what was really ironic with this long awaited verdict came from the flashback offered to the dwindling clientele of the Anchorage Daily Stool. See, on Tuesday morning, just hours before the indictment verdict was mainlined as headline news from the mountains to the prairies to the oceans, the Stool gave the reading public a flashback. It was called “Nice Catch!” No it wasn’t directed towards the FBI for bringing down yet another Alaskan politician - most likely a member of the Corrupt Bastards Club - but a picture of a big halibut, submitted by Trevor McCabe! Who? It was so, so sweet justice, as McCabe is one of the reasons that Ted finds himself in defense of life, liberty and a pursuit of happiness that may soon be cut short with incarceration. Herein is my very own take on Ted. The Fed’s are going after him for stuff that can be un-denied a felony and easily tried before a jury. It is my understanding that there existed more serious allegations but the decision was to target the easy stuff. Like lying about “gifts” received that required disclosures. Guilty will be an easy thing to prove, thus allowing credibility upon the FBI and at the same time a criminal discredit against Stevens. And the sad fact of the matter, Stevens was screwed by his own kind! Not you or I as constituents, as taxpayers and true Americans, but the very people that used his position of power to get us all addicted on “pork”. It became a trickle down theory, wherein his friends and family would lobby hard for something, not by any means by the people for the people, but an attempt at segregated greed – for themselves! In the end, the constituents would gain from what was leftover and wasn’t swindled away along the way by malfeasance manipulation against the U.S. Treasury. See, his friends and family stole away the cream and left the “crap” for the peasants. That is exactly what happened, as his so-called dedicated following aided and abetted in his demise – from self-centered greed. They knew they could get away with it, not once but it became the normal way of doing business with the taxpayers’ loot. Part of the ”K” Street follies. I have had my very own bouts with Ted, to the point that he insists that I am not a bonafide taxpayer so he doesn’t have to ever again answer my questions on issues. He scolded me for asking questions about why he voted on a pay raise when the rest of the country was going unemployed and drilling rigs were being sent to the bone yard. So needless to say, I was never a Ted fan. I could see what was going on behind the scenes with appropriations miss-appropriated. It was becoming a big mess and Ted continued to maintain his innocence that he had no control of out-of-control “pork” once it left his office of approval. But over time, Ted was screwed over because he believed in an American system that was starting to limp along on broken spokes. Honesty missing in action became this country’s worst nightmare and enemy. More, more and more is what Ted was used for. Our own kind screwed us all! Now we all face an embarrassing moment to see a U.S. Senator face indictment, for just trying to abide by “honesty” in giving Alaska a chance. And it all could have been avoided had those individuals crawling up Ted’s ass been “honest”. See, when somebody made a request for something, even ridiculous things like seed money to study the penis size of the male Mux Oxen, he provided the money - with no strings attached. He didn’t second guess requests that sounded good on the surface level, as he believed that when requests came his way, it was for a valid reason that was supposed to help get something accomplished in Alaska. He was only looking out for Alaska’s very own interest, as a political entrepreneur with a vision of a future that would get Alaska weaned away from welfare and on a path of self-sustainability. What sent Ted to the doomsday embarrassment scenario he finds himself in today was promoted by greed, from his very own loyalists, like his son Ben and McCabe. Not to mention an entire fleet of lobbyist loyalist that used the Uncle Ted label to play unfairly with the American public in general. I once listened to Ted when he was asked about waste from Federal “pork” that was sponsored from his office. He was adamant that he had not the time or interest to see too it that the money was not misappropriated once it gets to the requestor. Why? Ted believed in honesty. He practiced it, no doubt. That is where the system went haywire. The money coming Alaska’s way was like a free-for-all. The legislation coming from Alaska’s delegation was like a free-for-all. When “Big Oink Oil” was called to testify in front of Congress over high gasoline prices, Ted didn’t allow testimony under oath! Why, he believed in honesty without the extra burden. He was fooled, as accountability for anything and everything in Washington became a joke. It was then that “Big Oil” had the chance, but they knew they had powerful Ted on their side, so sided again with greed and didn’t offer up any relief and left this country to continue down an economic path to gloom almost at doom. The American system was broke and Ted refused to acknowledge that fact, as that was something a true American did not want to face. As to take advantage of our very own system of checks and balances is treason! So behind the scene, his friends, his very own children even, took advantage of his role as a powerful and dedicated Senator. He was eventually swallowed up in a vortex of no-return. If I were Ted, I would also provide a not guilty plea. Maybe his lawyer can claim “age” and forgetfulness, over the fact that he forgot to disclose some kickbacks for doing favors for his friends. But were those things really kickbacks for favors? Think about it, if I were able and willing to offer my daughter a brand new Land Rover, she would question it. She would no doubt thank me for “buying” it for her. But honesty would have made me tell her the truth. What was Ted afraid of? I believe in the end that his friends and family had taken advantage of a true American to the point that there was no turning back. So if you can’t beat them, well as the sentiment goes, join them! Maybe that is what’s behind the not-guilty plea. Ted is a lawyer by education. Ted knows the American system. Maybe he can play a role in showing that the system is broke, not by those in powerful positions, but through our own selfish ways and means. If Ted can take that on as an issue, then I am sure the rest of America will listen in. When a statesmen like Ted makes it known that the system is so broken that it swallows in those bent on doing it right, we need to take this opportunity to show that greed here, there and everywhere is what is corrupting our democracy. It is so bad off that senators cannot operate without ties to lobbyist! It is time to untie that knot. So bad, that special interest have so screwed up the merit system that we now see an individual like Ted Stevens in the crosshairs of the very government he gave an oath to protect. His crimes are testament of influence and coercion from outside interests. Ted was one man. He thought what he was doing was for the betterment of Alaskans. Maybe the intent was such, but when those you trust take advantage of a situation, then the hen house has been infiltrated by the FOX. Ted, stand up for your rights. Tell the truth, that it is lobbyists - in disguise as friends and relatives - that have raided the hen house blind. Legislation banning such un-American selfishness should be swift with punishment. Now is the time, as you have been a powerful individual and you still have influence, to right this wrong that burdens the majority - the peasants of America. Ted, you have now before you the opportunity to make America what you thought it was all about all along, an honest and righteous country, wherein political clout was not bent on greed and selfishness but a ways and means to fulfill that life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, with liberty and justice for all. Amen!
