Self-Portraits

OK, for once I have found something other than amusing with the 43rd President of the United States. And this is a first in my book, something other then laughter and maybe for this once George and I have found something of interest common. Now that George is out of the mainstream, it appears he has put down the pen of destruction and picked up the brush of life, as an artist. Maybe we are now starting to see his true calling, instead of the “Puppet President”, the Artist. Maybe George always wanted to be an artist, but was pushed to the brink of destruction in the political arena by his dad and mom? Since hackers have exposed Dubya's “Self Portraits”, my analysis of “Dreaming” and “Water Boarding” looks as though George is following in the footsteps of the best of the best post-impressionist avant-garde painters, an individual that was part of the Les Nabis era, namely French painter Pierre Bonnard. I am sure that those familiar with Bonnard will appreciate that George's first editions are pretty similar, and for a novice, pretty enriching with respect to and in comparison to Bonnard's most cherished works. See, nudity was one of Bonnard's most prized deliveries, and it appears that George likes being in the buff and armed with a palette and brush. So maybe it is time to give credit were credit is due, to George, for showing us that he has something to offer – and art as a virtue is never too late to deliver! Maybe, just maybe one day George will join that list of honorary members of the Les Nabis, like Bonnard, Ranson, Roussel, Vuillard and Vallotlon!
